This unique and exciting summer program is available to elementary school-aged children in one-week, half day sessions.
Every summer the kids create a kitchen garden where we grow all sorts of herbs, vegetables, and even some edible flowers. Each day, kids will cook something to eat and/or take home, and throughout the summer, we make a wide variety of dishes, from international fare like pasta and Chinese stir-fry, to breads, delicious snacks, desserts, and even pickles, and jams!
In addition to cooking, we participate in garden-related crafts and activities, both indoors and out (weather permitting).
At the end of each week, your child will come home with a handcrafted recipe book/journal with photographs documenting his or her time in cooking camp!
Got a teen who loves to spend time in the kitchen? Green Teens summer cooking program is the perfect place for beginner and experienced teen cooks alike.
Each session focuses on the art of food, knife skills, food science and safety, nutrition, food history and culture, and even gardening (we grow some of our own produce!) in a fun, relaxed, highly social atmosphere.
Teens who take these classes forge lasting friendships and leave with valuable life skills (and a recipe packet) that they will use for the rest of their lives.
* Menus will not be released in advance, but they do change weekly to accommodate families that wish to register for more than one session.
